The Oak Tree

A mighty wind blew night and day.
It stole the oak tree’s leaves away.
Then snapped its boughs and pulled its bark until the oak was tired and stark.
But still the oak tree held its ground while other trees fell all around…

The weary wind gave up and spoke, “How can you still be standing, Oak?”
The oak tree said, “I know that you can break each branch of mine in two, carry every leaf away, shake my limbs, and make me sway.
But I have roots stretched in the earth, growing stronger since my birth.
You’ll never touch them, for you see, they are the deepest part of me.
Until today, I wasn’t sure of just how much I could endure.
But now I’ve found, with thanks to you,

I’m stronger than I ever knew.

Especially now, try to remember that you’re stronger than any problem you encounter or any disappointment life will bring.

Thinking of you, believing in you, and caring for you.

This is what SHOULD be in the News….

It’s a tough, but heartwarming story…with a picture of John Gebhardt in Iraq

John Gebhardt’s wife, Mindy, said that this little girl’s entire family was executed. The insurgents intended to execute the little girl also, and shot her in the head…but they failed to kill her. She was cared for in John’s hospital and is healing up, but continues to cry and moan. The nurses said John is the only one who seems to calm her down, so John has spent the last four nights holding her while they both slept in that chair. The girl is coming along with her healing.

He is a real Star of the war, and represents what the Western world is trying to do.

This, my friends, is worth sharing with the WORLD! Go for it!!

You’ll never see things like this in the news. Please keep this going. Nothing will happen if you don’t, but the public needs to see pictures like this and needs to realize that we’re making a difference. Even if it is just one little girl at a time.

Thought of the Day

Handle every situation like a dog. If you can’t eat it or hump it; piss on it and walk away.

Only in the South…

A Nashville man who beat his girlfriend’s pet pig after the woman kicked him out of the house pleaded guilty to misdemeanor animal cruelty this morning.

Carl Houston pleaded guilty to aggravated animal cruelty for beating the animal, which goes by the name of “Bacon Bit,” on November 2006.

In exchange for pleading guilty to the lesser charge, Houston, 39, agreed with prosecutors to serve 11 months and 29 days probation, ordered to perform 20 hours community service and attend anger management.

He is also required to stay away from his ex-girlfriend and Bacon Bit, Davidson County District Attorney General Spokeswoman, Susan Niland said.

PHP – Random Link Script

So running different website and download servers, sometimes even a single file can cause a huge bandwidth push. An example would be one of our clients is Wolvix linux. When he releases a new distro it can cause a nice little bandwidth push. So to help this out, instead of listing a set of mirrors I dug up this script that randomly displays a link or links. It is great for this kind of need.
Please modify it to your needs. Script
